Chairpersons message regarding Kerala COVID Appeal 2021

23 June 2021

Dear members, friends, and well-wishers of KCAUK,

KCAUK would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to each of you, in the mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ, for your generous support for our ‘KCAUK-COVID appeal for Kerala’.

KCAUK is currently delivering 750 pulse oximeters in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alapuzha, and Cochin. We will update you further progress.

KCAUK confirm and assure that all your donations were used to help the very poor and genuine needy population who were severely impacted by COVID in Kerala, as we promised.

KCAUK would like to clarify that KCAUK does social events in and outside UK for the benefit of the community. However, I would like to make it very clear that neither KCAUK form part of ‘Kerala Catholic Chaplaincy’, nor  its office bearers hold any official responsibilities in the Chaplaincy.

‘Kerala Catholic Chaplaincy’ does not govern or lead the activities of KCAUK. Therefore, there is no need for congratulations to be extended to the Chapliancy for the achievements of KCAUK.

However, if an opportunity arises, KCAUK is pleased to work in collaboration with the Chaplaincy as we work with other nonprofit organisations, without compromising KCAUK’s norms, values, and identity.

The patron of KCAUK is Mgr Canon Kevin Hale. Board of Directors / Trustees, and the Executive Committee of KCAUK is different from that of ‘Kerala Catholic Chaplaincy’.

The activities of KCAUK which commenced in 1983, is independent and is different from that of Chaplaincy. It is a fact that KCAUK members are Kerala Catholics living in the UK from all catholic denominations. Therefore, certainly there are members belonging to both which is not conflicting but complementary.

The members and well-wishes are the strength of our great organisation and together we support KCAUK’s activities, which has been standing united to the test of time, despite the turbulence.

Once again, on behalf of KCAUK, I thank you for your generous support and prayers.

God bless and keep you and your family safe and happy.
