Chairpersons’s Message 2020

03rd December 2019

Dear members,

I, the Chairperson of KCAUK, have immense pleasure and great joy to write these words of greetings and about KCAUK’s Christmas and New Year celebrations to the members, families, friends, well-wishers, supporters, sponsors, Director Board (D/B) members, Volunteers, as well as to the Patron.

It is heartening to note that KCAUK, founded in 1984, has been standing firm and strong to the test of time despite our organisation had been buffeted by many storms from within and outside of our organisation. This year our association is celebrating Christmas and New Year on Sunday 22nd December 2019 at East Ham Town Hall, 328 Barking Road, London, E6 2RP from 4pm.

The KCAUK D/B members and I would like to take this opportunity to cordially invite you and your family to an evening of magnificent performances as well as to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in this wonderful Christmas season, together as a united community.

This reminds me of the ‘O’ antiphons known as the great Os or Alleluia verses. These are seven Advent Vespers used at the last seven days, Dec 17-23, before Christmas day in Christian traditions. These are the titles for the Messiah fulfilling the prophecy of Isaiah such as Wisdom (Sapientia), Lord (Adoni), Root of Jesse (Radix), Key of David (Clavis), Rising Sun (Oriens), King of the Nations (Rex), and Emmanuel. The first letter of the Latin titles in the reverse order will be ‘ero cras’ which means ‘Tomorrow I will come.’ “I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.. A Saviour has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10-11.

I take this opportunity to thank our Patron Mgsr Rt Rev Kevin Hale VG, Canon Bob Hamill (Parish priest St Michael’s East Ham), each and every one of you including the D/B members, the members, sponsors, and all those helped by prayers, finance, time, effort, and encouragement to make KCAUK a great success and to make this celebration a great triumph without which KCAUK could not thrive.

I whole heartedly invite more community members to join KCAUK as members, D/B members, and as Volunteers for the continued and enhanced growth, and to strengthen our great Association. As the Chairperson of KCAUK, I request all members and non-members alike to work more efficiently hand in hand for the progress of our great Association to serve the Kerala Catholic community.

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas surrounded by your precious family and many blessings for the coming New Year. May peace, love, and prosperity follow you always. God Bless us all.

Dr Lizy Damien, Chairperson KCAUK.
