Lenten Appeal 2025

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ our Lord,

On behalf of the Kerala Catholic Association of the UK Trust, I would like to draw your kind attention to the launch of the Lenten Season Charity Appeal 2025.

The main aim of this initiative is to raise a Charity Fund for the benefit of the extremely poor and downtrodden people in the state of Kerala.

Hence, we are humbly appealing to the generosity, good will and magnanimity of all KCAUK Trust members, as well as the community as a whole to make your valuable contributions based on your financial capacities, circumstances and make this humanitarian appeal a great success.

Lent, as you know, is a *time of prayer, fasting, penitence and almsgiving. Therefore, as Christians, we have a duty to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and represent him in our lives too.To put it in a nutshell, we should be prepared to give up things, share our resources in order to help others who have virtually nothing at all to live on.I am sure that together, our small contributions, however small, can go at least to some extent in alleviating the suffering of the needy.

The great teaching of the Bible which urges us to give generously to the needy and the poor, also says that 'the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and everything you do'. Therefore, we have a responsibility to help the poor people living in and experiencing poverty, hunger, homelessness and various health problems etc. As a matter of fact, Jesus Himself was a protector and champion of the poor and the oppressed. Remember "Whoever gives generously to the poor lends to the Lord and he will repay him for his deed"- Proverbs 19:17.

We assure you that all checks and balances will be put in place to make sure that the fund collected will ultimately reach the intended struggling victims of poverty.

KCAUK's first Lenten Season Appeal launched  during 2023 and had a very positive response from members and generous well wishers. The total amount collected was distributed to
